Doctors give Venizelos all clear after hospital tests

Deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos has been given the all-clear by doctors to attend the swearing ceremony for the new Greek cabinet on Tuesday afternoon after being admitted to the hospital earlier the same day.

The PASOK leader was admitted to the Ippokrateio Hospital in Athens at 1.30 a.m. after suffering stomach pains. He underwent a number of tests but doctors did not find any significant health problems.

He is expected to be discharged well before the swearing in ceremony, which is due to begin at 3.30 p.m.
