Burglars targeting Athens University offices

One safe was battered open and a laptop computer was stolen after unknown individuals broke into the offices of the Athens University campus in the early hours of Wednesday. Police are investigating the case, which is the third such incident in the last three months.

The perpetrators, who entered the building after removing the iron bars on a first-floor window, destroyed about 20 office doors before making off with an unknown amount of cash.

Meanwhile, students at the Athens School of Philosophy staged a sit-in in Room 421 demanding the space be used to operate as a student-run coffee shop. The classroom, which is allegedly equipped with state-of-the-art technology facilities, is used by history and archaeology students.
