Probe launched into doctors with suspicious consultation quotas

The National Organization for Healthcare Provision (EOPYY) is investigating complaints against doctors allegedly claiming to have filled their monthly consultation quotas within the first days of the month.

The approximately 5,500 doctors around Greece working with the fund are only allowed to carry out 300 EOPYY-covered consultations a month, the cost of which is covered by the organization.

The inspection found that at least 128 claimed to have hit their quota within the first few days of May and June, demanding that patients seen after the cutoff mark pay the full consultation fee out of their own pockets.
