Cypriot businessman murdered in Ayia Napa

Police in Cyprus are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 73-year-old Cypriot businessman Yiannos Kalopsidiotis, who was allegedly shot four times inside his farmhouse in the area of Ayia Napa late on Friday.

The victim’s son, Phanos Kalopsidiotis, was believed to have been one of the targets in an alleged contract killing in June 2012 that saw five of his bodyguards killed in a Mafia-style multiple murder in a local resort.

The younger Kalopsidiotis survived the attack.
