Conditions in the products and services markets in Greece are continuing to improve for consumers according to a report published by the European Commission earlier this week in Brussels.
The consumer market results chart, which reflects the performance of 52 consumer product markets ranging from used cars to holiday accommodation, showed that in 2013 Greece was 2.1 percent above the average for the 28 European Union member states in terms of both products and services.
Consumers grade their markets using four parameters: comparability of offers, confidence in enterprises, problems and complaints, and the degree of satisfaction with the enterprises.
The report showed that Greece fared better than the EU average in comparability and consumer confidence.
Compared with 2012, Greece posted a 2.1 percent improvement in the products market last year and gains of 3.1 percent in the services market, for a general improvement rate of 2.6 percent.
The product categories that showed the best performance in Greece are apparel (up 5.2 percent), used cars (8.8 percent) and new cars (3 percent).
