Deputy minister targets greedy Athens kiosk owner

Deputy Development Minister Gerasimos Giakoumatos (photo) on Tuesday asked the ministry’s competition commission to take out an injunction against a kiosk close to the Acropolis which is alleged to have been profiteering by selling 1-liter bottles of water for 3 euros.

The move came a day after authorities imposed a 2,000-euro fine on the kiosk owner following a report by Mega TV over the weekend during which a reporter approached the owner and took him to task over his high prices.
