Senseless tactics

The debate surrounding the partial privatization of the Public Power Corporation (PPC) is fresh proof that the Greek political establishment is incapable of putting an end to partisan practices.

It is unclear why this is the case. But whether it is simply because this is how it’s been done for so long that it has become standard practice or it is an inherent weakness, the system would rather expend itself on tactics for effect, as opposed to finding solutions to the numerous and substantial issues plaguing the country.

Time wasted, however, is lost forever and instead of problems being solved they are being allowed to grow even bigger.

This is something that political parties and those in charge of them must come to realize so that they stop wasting their energies and political capital on senseless battles which don’t lead to anything constructive.

These politicians must finally wake up to the fact that their own fates are intrinsically tied to that of the country as a whole.
