Casting call for Greek summer drama ‘Suntan’

Filmmaker Argyris Papadimitropoulos of the award-winning 2011 “Wasted Youth” and Marni Films are casting for his third feature film, “Suntan,” which will be shooting on the Cycladic island of Antiparos from late July through August.

The casting call is for young men and women aged between 19 and 24.

“Suntan” tells the story of a man in his 40s who decides to move to Antiparos and the transition from the solitude of winter to the frenzy of summer.

The screenplay is written by Papadimitropoulos and Syllas Tzoumerkas. It will be shot by Christos Karamanis, with sets designed by Aliki Kouvaka.

Makis Papadimitriou stars as the 40-year-old Kostis who embarks on an eye-opening journey into a whole new world of love and sex set on the backdrop of Antiparos.

“Suntan” was inspired by Papadimitropulos’s short “Tender,” shot 10 years ago.

Aspiring actors interested in participating can contact Marni Film, 12 Mnisikleous, Athens, tel 210.322.8860 or send an e-mail to [email protected].
