Greek primary budget surplus at 707 mln in first half of 2014
Greece’s primary budget surplus was 707 million euros in the first half of the year, some 70 million euros ahead of target, the Finance Ministry said on Monday.
During the same period last year Greece produced a primary deficit of 1.51 billion euros.
The state budget recorded a deficit of 2.41 billion euros in the first six months of the year, from a deficit of 4.99 billion euros last year, down from a revised budget target for a deficit of 3.85 billion euros.
Net state budget revenues totaled 23.615 billion euros in the first six months of 2014, up 1 pct from a revised budget target, while regular budget net revenues totaled 20.64 billion euros, up 0.3 pct from revised targets.
State budget spending totaled 26.03 billion euros, down 1.19 billion euros from a revised target, while regular budget spending totaled 23.67 billion euros, down 1.240 billion from revised targets.
