SYRIZA is organizing a protest in Athens on Tuesday against the Israeli aerial bombing and land operations in Gaza.
“This crime has to stop now,” said the opposition party. “Maintaining equal distances between the perpetrator and the victim creates an alibi for the continuation of the slaughter.”
The United Nations called for a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militants on Monday after the number of people killed in Gaza since the offensive began 13 days ago rose above 500.
SYRIZA called on people to gather in Syntagma Square at 7 p.m. for a rally and then a march to the European Commission’s offices on Vassilisis Sofias Avenue.
