Body found on Crete, relatives of missing Welsh hiker wait for news
Relatives of a 73-year-old Welsh pensioner who went missing in Crete on June 19 were waiting to find out yesterday if a body discovered on the island on Sunday is that of their loved one.
Arthur Jones, an experienced hiker, disappeared two days after arriving in Crete for a vacation.
The body was found in the Aghios Pavlos area of Hania on Sunday night by a walker. It was near a footpath.
Jones’s family flew to Crete after the 73-year-old failed to contact them in the hope of raising awareness about his disappearance.
Jones is a father of four and grandfather of six.
