Greek FM calls for return to Gaza truce
Greek Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos has expressed concern about the failure to extend the truce in Gaza and said peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians in Cairo should continue.
Venizelos spooke with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad al-Malki on the phone Friday, telling him about the Greek government’s decision to contribute 500,000 euros to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) to help with its humanitarian assistance to Palestinians.
He also reiterated the Greek authorities’ willingness to work with the EU and UNRWA to treat injured Palestinians, particularly children, in Greece.
