Defender claims self-defense in prostitute murder trial in Thessaloniki

A 28-year-old Ukrainian national accused of killing a 34-year-old Bulgarian prostitute in January was remanded in custody on Monday after defending himself before an investigating magistrate in Thessaloniki.

According to sources, the suspect claimed that the woman had agreed to offer him sex services involving “acts of violence” but that “the situation got out of control” and culminated in him stabbing her with a kitchen knife in self-defense.
