Financial Police checks in Attica, on islands lead to 3 arrests

The owners of three tourism-related businesses were arrested following checks carried out by the Financial Police in Attica and on the Cycladic islands between August 6 and 10, it was revealed on Monday.

A beach bar in Marathon was found to be renting out 64 sun loungers and 32 umbrellas without having a license to do so.

On Santorini, a restaurant was found to be operating without a permit.

On Myconos, a watersports firm that also rented sun loungers was found to have failed to issue 55 receipts as well as employing five unregistered employees.

The checks by the Financial Police revealed offenses at 12 of the establishments inspected.
