Police in Megalopoli, in the Peloponnese, were on Monday investigating the exact circumstances of the death of a 42-year-old Public Power Corporation (PPC) worker who was electrocuted at the power board’s local plant on Sunday afternoon.

The employee, an electrician by trade and senior unionist, was trying to repair an earth-moving machine at the plant’s quarry when he suffered a fatal electric shock, according to police.

A coroner had yet to issue a verdict on the cause of death by Monday morning.
