Elderly parents face Nafplio magistrate over murder of son

The parents of a 39-year-old food delivery worker whose burned remains were discovered in a car near the town of Astros in the Peloponnese last Friday faced an investigating magistrate in Nafplio in connection with his killing on Thursday with sources indicating that the 75-year-old father has admitted to murdering his son.

The 75-year-old is said to have told judicial officials that the 39-year-old had made life hell for him and his wife, beating and bullying them for money over the years. The wife, 67, is said to have denied any involvement in the death of her son, with the husband assuming full responsibility.

Another three relatives have been questioned in connection with the killing and released pending trial.
