Two firefighters injured as warning is issued of blaze risk

Two firefighters were injured on Friday while putting out a wildfire in the region of Aetolokarnania.

Details of the circumstances were not made public.

The General Secretariat for Civil Protection, meanwhile, has issued a warning that the risk of wildfires breaking out in many parts of the country are considerably high on Saturday due to strong winds coming on the back of a prolonged period of high temperatures.

The areas most at risk are Attica, Crete, the islands of the Aegean, Thasos and Alexandroupoli in the north Evia, and the regions of Argolida, Corinth and Laconia in the Peloponnese.
