Armed robbers hold up post office in Thessaloniki

A manhunt was under way on Tuesday for three men who held up a post office in Diavata, a suburb northwest of Thessaloniki center, making off with some 2,000 euros in cash.

According to the state-run Athens-Macedonia News Agency, three men stormed into the post office in the early hours of Tuesday. Their faces were covered and they were wielding guns.

Threatening violence, they allegedly forced the post office’s employees to hand over around 2,000 euros in cash from their tills.

The robbers made off in a getaway car.
