The right decision

A year ago, when former Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis announced that auditing companies were set to begin investigating expenses submitted by certain private health clinics to social security fund EOPYY, the announcement generated a heated reaction.

According to a story published by Kathimerini today, the decision taken back then by the Health Ministry was completely justified.

In a report released by private inspectors, data show that a large portion of the expenses that were claimed by the health facilities will actually require further investigation.

The state is expected to save millions of euros through the process and hopefully the audit will extend to public hospitals as well.
