Thessaloniki woman mugged after making ATM withdrawal

A woman was mugged in Thessaloniki after withdrawing cash from a bank ATM. According to witnesses, the woman was attacked by two men who grabbed her purse, which contained 1,250 euros, and ran off with it.

Police officers were dispatched to the area and caught the thieves, two Greek men, aged 29 and 30.

Officers of the motorcycle-riding DIAS police squad are on standby to boost security as large numbers of people are withdrawing cash daily from ATMs.
