Greek PM asks party leaders to back referendum ‘mandate’

As Greek political party leaders were gathered for talks on Monday in a meeting chaired by President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, a Greek government official said, "The prime minister asked the other party leaders to contribute toward supporting the clear and unequivocal mandate of the Greek people in yesterday's referendum for a viable solution."

Tsipras asked Pavlopoulos to call the meeting late on Sunday night following the referendum result in a bid to create a "solid national front" ahead of the resumption of negotiations.

During a break in the meeting, Pavlopoulos spoke to French President Francois Hollande while Russian President Vladimir Putin asked to speak with Tsipras by telephone, a Greek government official said.

Meanwhile, the leader of Syriza's radical Left Platform faction, Panagiotis Lafazanis, visited the presidential mansion, an aide to Lafazanis said without elaborating on the reasons for the visit.
