Four arrested over vandalism at privatization fund offices
Police in Athens on Tuesday arrested four suspects and identified a fifth in connection with Monday’s vandalism of the downtown offices the Greek privatization fund TAIPED.
According to a police announcement, investigators were able to trace the suspects from security footage showing some 10 people entering the premises by force shortly before opening at 8 a.m. on Monday morning. They smashed computers and other office equipment, as well as splashing red pain on the office walls.
Police sources told Kathimerini that at least five of the vandals have been identified.
A self-proclaimed anarchist group calling itself Rouvikonas – Greek for Rubicon – claimed responsibility for the attack.
