Fyssas’s friend speaks of fatal attack at Golden Dawn trial
The Golden Dawn trial continued on Thursday at Korydallos Prison, western Athens, with a friend of Pavlos Fyssas, the leftist rapper who was stabbed to death by a member of the neo-Nazi party two years ago, telling the court he was sure the attack was premeditated.
“It’s an organization of crazy people who want to murder those with different opinions,” Pavlos Seirlis told the court, adding that he believed GD leaders had ordered the attack.
Seirlis, one of dozens of witnesses in the case, was with Fyssas on the night of his murder in Keratsini, near Piraeus, in September 2013.
Responding to questions from the presiding judge, Seirlis positively identified members of the group who attacked him, Fyssas and others that night. He described the sequence of events, saying he escaped a crowd who surrounded him and watched Fyssas get cornered.
Earlier the rapper’s sister, Irini Fyssa, briefly took the stand but had to halt her testimony after feeling emotionally overwhelmed.
