House to vote on 2016 budget on December 5

Greek Parliament was expected to vote for the 2016 budget on Saturday, December 5, House Speaker Nikos Voutsis (photo) announced on Friday. The budget is the first to be tabled by the SYRIZA-Independent Greeks (ANEL) coalition government.

On Friday, Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos submitted the budget which will be discussed by the Parliament’s finance committee during four sessions, with a first discussion taking place on November 25.

The debate in Parliament was expected to begin on December 1.
