Cypriot Embassy in Athens closed for day after bomb blast nearby

The Cypriot Embassy in Athens will be closed on Tuesday as a result of the bomb blast outside the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) nearby.

The whole of Xenofontos Street near Syntagma Square has been cordoned off as experts from the anti-terrorism force hunt for clues regarding the pre-dawn attack.

Nobody was injured in the blast as the attackers had issued a telephone warning but a number of buildings suffered damage. Cypriot Ambassador Kyriakos Kenevezos confirmed that his embassy is one of them.
