Twenty-seven arrested for over 100 robberies, burglaries

Attica Police have detained 27 suspects believed to have committed more than 100 robberies and burglaries targeting elderly citizens across the capital.

According to police reports, the suspects were identified as Roma from Nea Liossia, who posed as Public Power Corporation (PPC) employees or lift mechanics as a means of gaining access to the victims’ homes.

Authorities suggested the suspects went looking for victims to target at open-air markets. The criminal ring’s loot was estimated at more than 350,000 euros, while another seven suspects were being sought by police over the weekend.
