A rudimentary explosive device went off outside the home of former minister Costas Laliotis in Lycabettus, central Athens, early on Friday.
The explosion occurred at 4.25 a.m., according to police.
The blast caused damage to the building’s entrance and a parked car, which belongs to the PASOK veteran who served in a number of ministerial posts, including at the Public Works Ministry.
PASOK issued a statement decrying the attackers.
Around three hours before the explosion unidentified assailants threw Molotov cocktails at the entrance to the Culture Ministry in downtown Athens.
Nobody was injured and no arrests were made.
