Scotland Yard, FBI train Greek officers in passport forgery detection
Officers from Scotland Yard and the FBI briefed 80 Greek police officers and 75 airline staff on how to detect forged travel documents earlier this week.
The Greek Police said on Thursday that the training took place at Athens International Airport on Wednesday.
The large influx of refugees and migrants last year put extra pressure on Greek authorities to screen people arriving and leaving the country. Police sources said around 500 people a year are arrested in Greece for having forged passports or other papers.
