Manos Hadjidakis Tribute | Athens | February 23

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Manos Hadjidakis, a group of Greek musicians pay tribute to the composer by performing works inspired by his life and music or by works that he liked. The event takes place at the Hellenic American Union on February 23. Taking part in the concert are vocalists Artemis Bogri, Dafni Panourgia and Sofia Papadimotropoulou; pianists Alexandra Papastefanou, Titos Gouvelis, Spiros Deligiannopoulos and Petros Bouras; guitarists Giorgos Mouloudakis and Michalis Kontaxakis; Giorgos Armanis on the double bass and L’Anima string quartet. The concert’s program includes works by Thodoros Antoniou, Spiros Deligiannopoulos, Leonidas Kanaris, Iakovos Konitopoulos, Giorgos Kouroupos and Alexandros Papastefanou. The event is organized by the Bachelor of Music program of the Hellenic American College (HAEC) in cooperation with the Hellenic American University (Manchester, NH, USA) and the Greek Composers Union. Starts at 8.30 p.m. and admission is free of charge.
