Valentine’s | Athens Concert Hall  | Athens | February 13-14

The Athens Concert Hall is putting together a trio of events to celebrate Valentine’s Day. On Saturday, February 13, “Tango en Eros” will be staged under the auspices of the Embassy of Argentina, and features the finalists of the Tango Acropolis Festival with musical accompaniment by singer Martha Moreleon, Marios Strofalis and the Quinteto Tangarto Orchestra. The event starts at 8.30 p.m. and admission ranges from 9 to 30 euros. On Sunday, February 14, Greek chef Stelios Parliaros will present a new pastry, “Prelude,” inspired by Valentine’s Day, at 5 p.m. Following the presentation Parliaros will discuss his craft with culinary journalist Eleni Psychouli. Also on Sunday, the Athens State Orchestra will perform works from popular movie soundtracks, starting at 7.30 p.m. The program includes music from “Gone with the Wind,” “Out of Africa,” “Love Story,” “West Side Story” and “Doctor Zhivago.” The ensemble will be led by Vladimiros Symeonidis. Admission ranges from 10 to 25 euros (5 euros reduced).
