IMF confirms Greek program terminated ahead of schedule

Greece’s IMF program has been terminated since January 2016, two months ahead of schedule, it was announced Tuesday.

Finance ministry officials said that the decision, which was agreed to by the Washington-based organization, was made to avoid administrative costs related to the program.

The decision was confirmed by IMF press officer Andreas Adriano.

The Greek government has already requested a new program.
