Suspected anarchists hijack Greek news

A total of 22 people, allegedly members of the Rouvikonas (Rubicon) anarchist group, are to face a prosecutor for forcing their way into a studio at public broadcaster ERT on Tuesday night during the evening news.

Rouvikonas is known for similar actions, such as a recent raid at the headquarters of Greece’s state sell-off fund, where its members smashed computers.

No damage was done at the ERT studio on Tuesday, while presenter Panos Haritos and his guest, Communist Party MP Liana Kanelli, were in conversation.

However, ERT was forced to stop broadcasting until the intruders were removed.
