Charitable Greek businesses may get VAT relief

The Finance Ministry in Athens says it plans to submit legislation offering VAT exemptions to businesses that offer donations and free services to refugees.

The exemptions will be granted as long as donations are made through state bodies (ministries, municipal authorities and others), the ministry said.

The measure will take effect retroactively, as of December 2015.
