Let’s get our own house in order

COMMENT
A number of conclusions reached by the Greek coalition government regarding the European Union’s approach to the refugee and migrant crisis may be correct.

The same can be said of the Greek administration’s complaints regarding the hurdles imposed by Turkey with regard to the full development of NATO operations in the Aegean Sea.

These conclusions, however, should not be used as an alibi for the absence of a state mechanism, at a time when there is a serious need for maintaining basic security rules and orderliness or for its inadequacy in terms of the country meeting its pledges.

Given the current climate prevailing across the European continent in the wake of Tuesday’s attacks on Brussels international airport and the Maelbeek metro station, there is no room for any more mistakes or delays.
