Private sector experience opens state sector doors
Work experience of up to seven years in the private sector will be taken into consideration in the selection of managers in the public sector, according to a presidential decree due to be signed this week.
The decree is part of the effort by the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction to promote able and skilled people to management positions in the public sector.
A law recently passed in Parliament concerning the appointment of managers in the public sector stipulates that applicants must have “experience in a related field of up to seven years outside the public sector” and that this will be taken into consideration “as long it can proved.” The law also states that people can only apply for posts in their field of expertise.
Further details about the terms and conditions of this recognition of prior experience will be determined by the presidential decree, the ministry said.
The procedure to select managers in the state sector must be completed by the end of 2016.
