Prosecutor submits deposition on probe into handling of high-profile case
Appeals court prosecutor Georgia Tsatani, who has become embroiled in a row with Alternate Justice Minister Dimitris Papangelopoulos, submitted a written deposition on Wednesday as part of a disciplinary investigation into her handling of a judicial probe that focused on businessman Andreas Vgenopoulos.
In her note, Tsatani repeated her accusations that Papangelopoulos had tried to force her to hand over the case so another prosecutor could carry out the investigation.
Tsatani also explains in her deposition how she carried out her work and why her probe did not result in Vgenopoulos facing any charges.
The prosecutor also asked that Supreme Court president Vassiliki Thanou step down from her position as head of the disciplinary probe.
