EBRD ponders subsidy request worth half a billion euros
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has received and is examining Greek requests for project subsidies adding up to 500 million euros.
The subsidies concern direct EBRD financing to Greek enterprises, without any banks in between, aimed at the implementation of growth investment plans that will strengthen the companies’ international competitiveness.
The EBRD investments will be directed to sustainable, preferably export-orientated enterprises, either in the form of lending or as capital holdings.
Its financing plans include a possible participation in the Fraport-Slentel investment plan for Greece’s 14 regional airports.
