We can’t relive last summer

Greece cannot afford to relive a situation like that it experienced last summer, a period which left the country deeply scarred.

The current situation demands mature reactions and responsible moves, as opposed to publicity stunts.

If Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras again aims to return to Athens and ask, “Who’s side are you on?” he will prove that he is definitely not up to the mark.

The administration must refrain from constantly seeking national division and extreme polarization as substitutes for governing the country.

Clearly, government officials are unable to carry the weight of the responsibility that comes with the negotiations and are constantly in search of escape routes. They should have been aware, right from the start, of the huge difficulty of the task.

They did not have a plan B and they can’t come up with one now, while plan A seems too burdensome for them. Ultimately, however, Greece must get back on track.
