Vaftistikos | Athens | May 13-22
The Greek National Opera will be staging a new production of Theofrastos Sakellaridis’s “O Vaftistikos” in a series of performances running from May 13 to 22. Directed by Simos Kakalas, the operetta is one of the Greek repertoire’s most popular works, with a story based on a series of comical misunderstandings. The cast is led by Anna Stylianaki, Dimitris Paksoglou, Diamantis Kritsotakis, Stamatis Beris and Gina Poulou. The Greek National Opera Orchestra is led by Giorgos Aravidis and Andreas Pylarinos. Shows start at 8 p.m. Admission ranges from 15 to 35 euros (10 euros reduced). Tickets are on sale at the theater’s box office.
