Reduced transport services announced for Easter holiday

Athens metro and electric railway (ISAP) services will be less frequent from Good Friday to Tuesday, transport authorities said Tuesday.

There will be metro trains every seven to 10 minutes on Friday and Tuesday.

On Saturday, the frequency will be around every 10 minutes, while on Easter Sunday this will drop to every 15 minutes. ISAP trains will run every 10-12 minutes every day. The last metro and ISAP trains will depart at around midnight on Good Friday and at between 10 and 11 p.m. on Easter Saturday.

There will be a reduced service on buses and trolley buses from Easter Saturday to Tuesday; on each of the days, the timetable followed will be the one reserved for Sunday and public holidays.

Transport authorities said that extra buses to and from Athens International Airport, the port of Piraeus and KTEL intercity bus terminals may be put into operation if needed.
