Two women aged 24 were killed when their car crashed into another vehicle that had come to a standstill in a heavy hailstorm on Tuesday in northern Greece, on the border between the prefectures of Kavala and Xanthi.
According to police reports, the victims were driving from Thessaloniki along with another two friends, who were sitting on the backseat. Their vehicle careened into another car that had veered out of control due to the slippery tarmac and come to a halt in the middle of the lane.
The driver was killed on impact, while her front-seat passenger died on the way to hospital, according to reports. The other two young women riding in the back suffered minor injuries.
There was no information regarding the passengers of the other vehicle.
