Foreign arrivals shrink marginally at the Athens Airport

Passenger traffic from abroad at Athens International Airport recorded an annual decline in April for the first time in several years, amounting to 0.5 percent. The 4.3 percent rise in domestic traffic led overall passenger numbers to an annual increase of 1.2 percent.

Last month 1.47 million passengers used the country’s biggest airport, a satisfactory figure given that in April 2015 there had been a major annual increase thanks to the Western Easter coinciding with the Orthodox one, while this year there was a 24-hour strike on April 7.
