OPINION

Chaos prevails

The fact that the situation with the refugees and migrants camped at Idomeni on Greece’s northern border, as well as at the capital’s former airport in Elliniko and Piraeus Port remains so out of control after so many months is without precedent.

Government officials constantly tell us that something will be done but they just sound ridiculous now. No state should be content with such an image of chaos and indifference and the damage it is doing is huge, and not just to the economy.

As hard as the situation may be from an operational perspective, the government must solve the problems that have arisen because of bad policies and foot-dragging.
