Sign of ingratitude
We have grown used to seeing leftist Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras inaugurating, signing off on, or praising projects that he used to attack as leader of the opposition.
On Tuesday, as Greece launched construction on a 550-kilometer section of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, Tsipras said the project would usher Greece and Europe into a “new era.”
Needless to say, it would a sign of political maturity and responsibility if he were to acknowledge the contribution of his predecessors without which none of these projects would have materialized.
If Greece is to ever to evolve into a serious country, it will have to achieve a decent level of continuity in the state apparatus and a minimum level of political courtesy.
