In association with Panteion University’s MA Program in New Media and Journalism and with the support of the US Embassy in Athens, Panteion's Advertising and Public Relations Lab is organizing the first Athens Startup Weekend, where the focus will be on entrepreneurial journalism. The event takes place at Impact Hub Athens from Friday, May 20, to Sunday, May 22. The event is aimed at students and journalism professionals. During the startup weekend, mentors will help participants to “disrupt” traditional media practices using digital technology, the collaborative economy and entrepreneurship. Jeremy Caplan, director of education for the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism, CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, will deliver the keynote address.
