Trolley bus torched by arsonists in Athens

Police launched an investigation after unidentified arsonists threw Molotov cocktail bombs at a trolley bus in central Athens late on Friday.

Early reports suggested the hooded perpetrators approached the trolley bus on Patission Street, near the Athens Polytechnic building, and forced the driver and the passengers to get out.

They subsequently hurled Molotov cocktail bombs at the vehicle, setting it on fire.

No one was injured, but the trolley bus sustained significant damage.
