Dozens of former execs, employees charged over Probank loans

An Athens prosecutor has filed criminal charges against several high-ranking executives and more than 70 employees of the now defunct Probank, which stopped operating in 2013, for granting loans to companies and individuals without seeking collateral or conducting proper background checks.

According to a court probe, the loans were approved over a period stretching from 2004 to 2011, resulting in damages to the bank worth 64 million euros.
