Police seek robbers who rammed bank with car, blew up ATM

Police in Achaia in the Peloponnese on Friday were seeking unidentified robbers who drove a car through the glass façade of a bank in the small town of Akrata before using an explosive device to blow up the bank's ATM.

The attack on the bank occurred at 5.30 a.m. After the robbery, the assailants fled in the car which they torched about 50 meters from the bank before continuing their escape on foot.

It remained unclear what the assailants used to blow open the ATM and what amount of cash they got away with.

There were no reports of any injuries.
