Greece plans to spend almost half a million euros advertising the country as a tourism destination on Yahoo and the Travel Channel.
The cooperation between the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and Yahoo will include three-month campaigns for the United States, with 19.8 million ads (costing 122,301 euros), and the markets of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain, with 50.5 million ads (costing 157,662 euros).
The Travel Channel will screen five one-minute adverts 129 times each to its viewers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The five themes of the adverts, which will be in English, will be Greek gastronomy, sun-and-sea holidays, city tourism, luxury tourism and lifestyle. The budget of this television campaign will run to some 205,000 euros.
