Bank deposits decline for fourth straight month in April

Deposits in Greek banks dropped for a fourth straight month in April, coming to 121.43 billion euros, down 0.04 percent from the previous month, data from the Bank of Greece quoted by Naftemporiki daily showed.

The dip brought business and household deposits to the lowest rate since July 2003, the daily reported, continuing their slide from March, when they came to 121.47 billion euros.

In February, business and household deposits decreased by 550 million euros, or 0.45 percent month-on-month to 121.68 billion euros ($136.3 billion), from 122.23 billion euros in January.
